  no longer 'vatican city' for watchtower, brooklyn watches jehovahs retreati thought this was an interesting article, since i lived about 100 feet from the old margaret hotel before it burned down.

  i was in a corner room on the penthouse (10th floor) of the 107 building just a stone's throw away from the old margaret.

  (harley miller and his wife brooke - he was the head of the service dept.

  why i ask, because last night after the agm meeting i was thinking...would god name himself a jewish name, since he in not partial...would he name himself a name that folks could get all puffed up about & say see...god is a jew.

  also, jesus, well, he came from the line of jews, not really.

  I concur with hoser.

  Once the top clique discover you are low status you are dropped like a hot potato. It's all fake. The low cliques muddle on best they can associating with other but I only ever formed one proper friendship and even when our JW statuses changed (her d'fd, we still spoke, me, apostate and we still speak) so it's a proper friendship in my book but the only one I ever made.

  But, if she ever started pressuring me to go back to the KH or wanted me to drop my exjw friends she would lose.

  in the spanish website extj one forum user shows evidence that on the 18th and 19th of september in chile the government calls to honor the nation displaying the national flag everywhere.

  failure to do so is liable to a fine.

  They probably opened the window to put the flag between the bars and the glass.

  If the glass is frosted it would not be so obvious to those inside, especially if there are also blinds which are kept closed to keep the heat out as is usual in a hot country.

  Still doesn't seem right though. They should not display the flag and pay the fine.

  this thread was inspired because of 3rdgn, and her asking, on behalf of her destitute elderly widowed mom,.

  for the return of her mother's "conditional loan" to the society of $20,000.00.. (this was stated today, under my thread of, "what was the effect on you of knowing hypocritical jw's?").

  the society more or less yes, no, it is now our money, and you can't have it back.

  One "elder"even stated to me "business and the truth are two seperate things , not to be confused together.

  I too thought it was only me and wow, that quote! I had the exact same thing said to me about the dodgy car by the bro who sold it to me. Surely "the truth" comes first and then business but clearly not for many. Why on earth do they claim JWs are the most honest people on earth. I am starting to believe they are amongst the most dishonest now.

  When I went to the other elder in our cong about the catering business I bought being illegal he replied "It's very difficult to run a legal business in Spain". Makes me wonder what else he was up to now.
